Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-
“Despite persistent efforts to paper over the cracks, it is abundantly clear that at a time when the public most need coherent government, instead, what we have is Sinn Fein grandstanding on everything that is easily demanded, but harder to deliver. Be it school closures, more testing or closing the factories, Sinn Fein chooses popularism over reality.
“Sinn Fein ran away from the Health department, but now knows better than the Health minister.
“Underlying much of Sinn Féin’s divisive approach is the fact that in every crisis they see an opportunity to push an all-Ireland approach and have a pop at the British Government. Hence, their disgraceful politicalisation of this crisis.
“With their every manipulative move Sinn Fein demonstrates why mandatory coalition will never work.”
