Securing UK borders means any migrant restrictions must be at international frontier, not Irish Sea

Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-

“When the Prime Minister, in response to the Republic’s panic over immigration, said “My focus is on the United Kingdom and securing our borders”, such would be a welcome departure for one who confirmed the partitioning border in the Irish Sea in his useless Windsor Framework.

“With his record of failure in defending the integrity the United Kingdom, unionists should be wary that we don’t get another placatory response to Dublin by hardening the Irish Sea border into an immigration border as well.

“The Republic has no one but itself to blame for its plight. It insisted there could not be as much as a camera on the international frontier and now laments the open border it demanded attracts migrants! Dublin is reaping what it sowed!”
