“The statement by PSNI Supt Magee that the PSNI knew of Londonderry INLA event, which turned into a terrorist ‘show of strength’ by gunmen, but that is “challenging to balance requirements of community to have commemoration and a policing op that enables us to respond,” is quite shocking.
“The firing of shots and hooded men is not a commemoration, but a glorification of terrorism. Why does PSNI think it must create space and balance for such? Little wonder confidence in the PSNI is ebbing away every day.”
