Worrying Trend of Abduction Attempts

Statement by Deputy Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, Cllr Timothy Gaston:

“The attempted abduction of children on Queen Street in Harryville is another chilling development on the back of serious approaches to children over the summer months.

“My thoughts immediately go to the children and their families as it is something no one should ever have the go through. I am however encouraged by the quick action the children and parents which have led to this man being identified by the PSNI.

“It is in times like these when communities come together. I would say to everybody to stay vigilant – if you see suspicious activity contact the PSNI. If you have any information please come forward.”

“I have requested an urgent meeting with the PSNI to highlight our concerns .”
