Northern Ireland’s colonial masters in the EU impose two new laws – without any oversight from Stormont

Statement by TUV deputy leader Court Councillor Ron McDowell:

“TUV has consistently pointed out that the arrangements which supposedly give Stormont a role in EU law are grossly inadequate. However, the events of today have resulted in a situation where even the DUP vice-chair of the Windsor Framework Committee regards MLAs as “impotent”.
“Once more spin about the deal has collided with reality. The supposed oversight of Stormont is totally absent when it comes to these two new EU laws which are being imposed by our colonial masters in Brussels.

“It is also telling that a lengthy section of today’s meeting of the Windsor Framework Committee was held in private, denying the public an insight into the process which was supposedly brought in to ease Unionist concerns about the Sea Border.”
