Statement by TUV North Antrim Assembly candidate Matthew Armstrong:
“Today on Talkback UUP leader Doug Bettie repeatedly ducked and dived when asked if his party would nominate a deputy to a Sinn Fein First Minister. Just like his DUP counterpart last week the UUP leader was unable to provide a straight answer to the question which is coming up time and time again on the doorsteps.
“Only TUV is clear that under no circumstances will we provide a bridesmaid to a Republican First Minister. Having opposed Sinn Fein holding government office for years we have no difficulty in pledging that no TUV MLA will act as stooge deputy to a Republican First Minister.”
