Statement by European candidate Jim Allister:-
“I note Martina Anderson has been pontificating about the economic consequences of Brexit. She didn’t show much concern for the economy of her native city when she tried to bomb a furniture shop in Londonderry – leading to her first arrest.“When she then skipped bail and went on the run in the Republic she was very happy to take advantage of the border she now rails against. The fact she was arrested 5 years later with the Brighton bomber, Magee, demonstrates the terrorist circle of which she was a part.
“Little wonder though she is a fan of the Belfast Agreement because she was an IRA prisoner released under it after serving 13 years of her life sentence for bombings in GB.
“Now, she proclaims herself a champion for rights! More respect of the most basic right of all, the right to life, instead of choosing to be a terrorist, would have been better. But such is the brazen hypocrisy of Sinn Fein in its so called rights agenda!
“I’m glad to be standing diametrically opposed to all this terrorist practitioner stands for and to have opposed, not endorsed, her and her ilk in government.”
