Statement by Jim Allister MLA:
“I am greatly encouraged by the news that The Range, a UK leisure and garden retailer, will be opening its first store in Northern Ireland in the Braidwater Retail Park in Ballymena creating 80 jobs.
“Ballymena, and North Antrim, has been hit hard over the past number of years with significant businesses shutting up shop. It is good to see job creation and I wish The Range every success.”
Cllr Timothy Gaston continued:
“I would echo Jim Allister’s comments in welcoming The Range to Ballymena and wishing them every success – job creation is essential and every single job can be life changing for someone.
“It was also important given that today we learned that in Ballymena the number of unemployed has risen over the past month. That makes the news of 80 new jobs even more welcome, that hopefully we can see a downward trend in unemployment going forward.”
