Time to shake them up – Allister

Nomination
L-R: Ivor McConnell (Chair), Kenny Loughrin (Treasurer), Jim Allister MLA, Rick Cairns (Vice Chair) and Willie Ross (President)

Speaking on the occasion of handing in his nomination papers for the European election, TUV leader Jim Allister said the choice was more of the dull same in Brussels, with hearing nothing of our 3 MEPs for another 5 years, or shaking up the political landscape by electing TUV. The effect in both Brussels and Belfast would be immediate.

“It is by voting TUV that the most political change can be forced. The European election is the perfect opportunity to send a message of discontent to those who preside over the dismal Stormont scene. It’s time to shake them up.

“So, what TUV offers in this election is the swiftest and best route to change. Give TUV a province-wide mandate and change in Stormont is inevitable, as those scalded by the result are forced to make changes.

“The simple truth is that TUV is the unionist community’s best insurance policy. The stronger the TUV vote the less concessions to Sinn Fein. On the Sinn Fein endorsed Haass proposals, so destructive of victims’ and parading rights, the stronger the TUV vote, the less likely another DUP roll over after the election.

“The timing of these elections is most opportune, coming as they do after the most extensive exposure of the corruption of the “peace process”, which chimes exactly with the TUV message that the present Belfast Agreement structures are built on deception and perversion of due process. The OTR scandal and the fact that the IRA went on arming after 1998, validates the TUV analysis and shows up the folly and weakness of those who were conned into government with IRA/Sinn Fein.

“There has never been a better time to vote TUV. This is how to make a real impact on the political landscape, at home and abroad.

“I, therefore, look forward to the next 5 weeks of campaigning, believing the TUV message is resonating strongly with grassroots unionism and that many will take the opportunity to be heard.”
