Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-
“Tonight’s comments by Peter Robinson in Dublin on Haass should be a wake up call to any loyalist and DUP supporters who thought they could rely on the DUP to suppress the unacceptable Haass outcome.
“By describing the Haass proposals as having “laid the foundations” for the future, the DUP leader signaled that in time he will sign up to them. Proposals which can’t even call the IRA campaign terrorism, retains the hideous equivalence of victim and victim-maker in the definition of victim, suggests such innocent victims should trade a self-serving version of the Provo truth for justice, which broadens the scope for objection to traditional parades and which do nothing to restore the Union flag to its rightful place, are not proposals capable of laying any foundation for anything other than what their chief proponents, Sinn Fein, want to build.
“It is now becoming clear that Mr Robinson is himself laying the foundations for yet another DUP roll over, this time on Haass.”
