Statement by Councillor Jolene Bunting:
“I was in contact with the mothers of the two young teenagers who were the victims of a sectarian attack as they walked to Ballysillan yesterday.
“This was a despicable and cowardly act as they were set upon by older males once identified as young Protestants. This was clearly a sectarian attack designed to not just injure the young people concerned but to send a message to the local Protestant community.
“It is imperative that the PSNI find those responsible and bring them to justice.
“I would encourage anyone with information to come forward to the police.”
