Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-
“After all the hype the under-capacity Sinn Fein orchestrated event today in Dublin proved to be less popular than this year’s 12th of July celebrations in Newry!
“The common denominator in the Sinn Fein orchestrated Arena Echo Chamber today was the desire to subvert the will and rights of Unionists to remain citizens of the country where they were born, the United Kingdom. The same ‘Brits Out’ mentality characterised the murderous IRA campaign which had the identical end goal.
“How striking, that not a word of apology today for that bloodthirsty terrorist campaign which brought genocide to border areas and brutal murder to many because they dared to be non-republicans. The tactics might have evolved from the sectarian murder of Reserve Constable John Eagleson on a previous 1st October (1980), but extraction of Northern Ireland from the U.K. remains the intent.
“Only the weakest and most foolish of those who care anything about the Union will give any credence, by word or deed, to this anti-Unionist jamboree.”
