Statement by TUV MLA Jim Allister on Brockaghboy 110kv Renewables Connection Project:-
“After months of representations and meetings with SONI, I greatly welcome the fact that they have finally heeded the urgings of local representatives and abandoned the intended overheard pylons in the vicinity of Rasharkin and decided to take the cable underground.
“This outcome is an illustration of the effectiveness of a local campaign by determined residents. When I first met with SONI on this issue there was an arrogance and belligerence to their rejection of the sensible resolution of taking the cable underground, but the resilience of the affected residents has finally won through. I commend the residents for standing their ground.”
