Vaccine checkpoint society is not an appealing prospect

Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:
““Doing something” is not a reason for what is grandly called “Vaccine Passports”.
“Those promoting infringement of basic rights are the ones required to produce the proof warranting their proposal. Such must include rational explanation of why vaccine passport countries, such as the Republic of Ireland, are seeing an increase in COVID cases and, equally, why regions with substantial relaxations, such as GB, are less afflicted.
“Equally the proponents of such a course need to be specific as to what they are proposing and and where such “passports” would be required. Is it hospitality only, or all places where the public gather, including churches? Would it even include shops?
“We need to know precisely how oppressive passport advocates wish to be. What exemptions will there be?
“A checkpoint society is not an appealing prospect.
“I make it clear that I support the vaccination programme and urge the highest possible participation. Personal responsibility embraces not just the individual but also one’s neighbour.”
