Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:
“Whatever the final outcome of the Conservative Party leadership contest, it is imperative that Unionism keeps the new PM focused on the full restoration of U.K. sovereignty over Northern Ireland by the removal of the Union-dismantling Protocol.
“This is the sole issue affecting the sovereignty and integrity of the United Kingdom and, therefore, must be made the top priority of the new Prime Minister. This can only be done by unionism collectively holding the line, without deviation, against the Protocol. Thus, now is a time to stand firm and settle for nothing less than the total removal of the EU’s ill-gotten sovereignty over this part of the United Kingdom.”
