TUV Welcome Recognition for Sergeant Robert Quigg VC

Statement by Jim Allister MLA:

“It was brought to my attention by the family of the war hero Sergeant Robert Quigg VC, that his burial place at Billy Parish Church in Bushmills was not signposted as a place of historic interest.

“I am glad to report that after lobbying Tourism NI that they have supported the request that this site is highlighted on a brown tourist sign directing people to the graveyard of this esteemed and well known hero. I look forward to Causeway Coast and Glens Council now expediting the erection of this sign.”

Ald. Sharon McKillop, TUV Bushmills continued:

“Sergeant Robert Quigg VC is a well-known and much respected war hero, and it is only fitting that his resting place is duly marked by such a sign. This will allow those people so wishing to pay their respects for his heroic acts which saved lives.

“I would thank Tourism NI for supporting this application, and look forward to seeing the sign in place in the not so distant future.”
