TUV to launch new policy leaflet at Balmoral Show

TUV party chairman and East Londonderry representative Jordan Armstrong has announced that the party will launch a new policy leaflet at the TUV stand at the Balmoral Show tomorrow.

Mr Armstrong said:

“In this document TUV celebrates the centenary of Northern Ireland and our contribution not just to the UK but the world – something which has been shamefully ignored by the powers that be. We also focus on the real and present danger which the Northern Ireland Protocol poses. While some would try to now suggest that they are opposing the Protocol while continuing to implement it, with TUV you get the real deal – a party which has warned about and consistently opposed the Sea Border from the day and hour it was first suggested. Uniquely among Northern Ireland’s parties our hands are clean and we offer Unionists a principled voice on this issue. No Unionist should ever acquiesce in, never mind implement, a border which cuts the UK in two.

“Our leaflet also highlights the dangers of the Irish language legislation which is set to be introduced in a few months’ time.

“Importantly we detail our vision for a better Northern Ireland. With a single MLA TUV has made its mark, piloting two Bills through Stormont resolving the issue of overpaid, unaccountable Special Advisers and addressing many of the issues highlighted by the RHI Inquiry. But TUV wants to go much further. Stormont currently guarantees Sinn Fein a place in government for ever. TUV alone is serious about bringing proper democracy to Northern Ireland – a durable government with an opposition who can provide accountability and offer you, the voter, to change your government at election time. That’s what happens in the rest of the Western World. The denial of this fundamental right in Northern Ireland is the core of the problem Northern Ireland faces in every political crisis we have seen in the last 25 years.

“TUV’s message has been resonating with increasing numbers of people across the Province. This document hits on many of the reasons why that has happened so I expect it will be read by interest by many in the coming days.

“The TUV will be at Stand 30C in the Eikon Shopping Village.”
