TUV – standing strong on moral issues

Statement by TUV South Antrim candidate Mel Lucas:

“Since Northern Ireland last had an Assembly election some of the major selling points for devolution for many people have disappeared. While their opinions are often ignored by the mainstream media there remains a large body of opinion in Northern Ireland who are committed to the protection of the unborn child and oppose the dilution of marriage which we have witnessed in recent years. It is telling that both the redefinition of marriage and a liberal abortion regime were imposed on Northern Ireland over the head of the Assembly. This having happened has made some question the value of devolution at all.

“Now we have a Justice Minister who cannot even answer the question of what a woman is when asked about it recently on a phone-in!

“For our part, TUV’s moral compass means we are resolute in opposing terrorists in government. We are equally clear on the need to protect the unborn and indeed the issue of euthanasia.

“The chief focus of our NHS is the saving of lives, yet some want it to become an agency for death through the full commissioning of abortion services. I and my party unapologetically oppose such demands.

“Halting the pandemic of destruction of the unborn, which abortion on demand represents, is a TUV goal. TUV MLAs will strongly support legislative and other moves in the Assembly to counter the appalling imposition of 2020 which left us with the most extreme abortion laws in Europe.”
