Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-
“Today’s judgement by Colton J is a frontal attack on the Christian ethos of many controlled schools which will jar with the greater number of parents.
“With unfettered opt out available to anyone in respect of collective worship and religious education, no child is being forced to accept Christian teaching. But, now, under the Colton approach, children, despite parental wishes, may be denied education respectful of the Christian ethos of the school chosen for their children by parents.
“This is not progressive, but regressive and a ruling which I trust the Department will appeal.”
