Statement by TUV North Belfast representative Ron McDowell:
“The murder of a man in the Cliftonville Road area of North Belfast was an abhorrent act of callous brutality which has been rightly condemned across the political spectrum. I add my condemnation to the voices already speaking out.
“This is a grizzly reminder of past terrorist activity in the city and I would appeal for anyone with information to come forward and help the police with their inquiries.
“I express my condolences to the family and ask that they be allowed the space to come to terms with this devastating news.”
