“Today’s Assembly vote, secured by gerrymandering the Belfast Agreement pledge of only cross-community voting on key issues, creates unavoidable choices for unionism:
To carry on in an Executive which going forward must administer NI as a EU/UK condominium, under EU colonial rule in 300 areas of law, or repudiate such dismantling of the Union by refusing to play that disastrous game.
“The right decision should be made easier by the High Court exposure of the ‘Safeguarding the Union’ constitutional assurances as a fable and deceit.
“If, as is now indisputable, the DUP reentered the Executive on promises now shown to be false, then to stay is to accept the hoodwinking and administer NI on the basis that it is not and cannot under the Protocol be a full part of the United Kingdom.
“Unionists should not take on this kamikaze role.”
