Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-
“The contradictions in the DUP position are becoming more acute by the hour.
“Yesterday, the DUP’s desperate narrative was that no RHI allegations were made to Arlene Foster. However, Arlene Foster’s own words to Spotlight, confirming receipt of such allegations, blew that narrative apart. Then, to try and reclaim some credibility, the latest spin is that Mrs Foster “had the impression” she had received allegations.
“Being under an impression is not that different from being in a dream. The kindest comment, therefore, on this farcical twist is that it speaks to a minister asleep at the wheel, just as when she signed off the flawed RHI scheme.
“That fatal act of signing off the rip off RHI scheme must remain the key focus. That is why the public have been saddled with over £400m of squander. Arlene Foster was the author of this Squander made in Stormont. There should be no hiding place for her failure, nor for DUP insiders who lined up to benefit from the scheme.”
