Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-
“The fact that under prevailing Stormont rules though the Infrastructure minister lost her seat and the SDLP no longer qualifies to hold an Executive place under d’hondt, nonetheless, SDLP can cling onto that ministry and nominate a replacement for Ms Mallon. What a farce!
“Equally, parties now entitled to less or more executive places under d’hondt, carry on unaffected in their old posts.
“Now to add to the discredit of the Stormont system it takes 65,788 TUV votes to get one seat, while Alliance gets a seat for every 6,864 votes.”
