Sinn Fein hypocrisy over EU and ‘rights’

Statement by TUV European Election candidate, Jim Allister:-

“Sinn Fein hypocrisy is nothing new, but in respect of the EU it is particularly rank.

“Though presently posing as Euro loyalists, because Brexit upsets their all-Ireland plans so radically, the truth is that Sinn Fein is steeped in antipathy to the very thing they now embrace.

“In their last European manifesto in 2014 they demanded the return of powers from Brussels, denounced Brussels’ devastation of Irish fishing, railed against the Commission and its austerity and militarisation programmes. Now, they are the EU’s cheerleaders. It reminds me of when I fought and defeated Barbara de Brun, she didn’t know whether she wanted to bring back the Punt or keep the Euro!

“The truth is that Sinn Féin’s approach, on this as in everything, is driven solely by its anti-British perspective. Brit bashing, not policy conviction is its guiding star.

“Having vehemently opposed the Lisbon Treaty, they now cheer every move Brussels makes to screw the Brits under its exit provisions.

“If that’s the standard of representation some want, then, they are easy pleased, but don’t go looking for rationality in the Sinn Fein stance. But, a study of its candidate’s utterances would soon confirm that. Likewise a comparison of her words with her actions equally screams hypocrisy – she bleats on about “rights” but as a terrorist showed no regard for the greatest right of all – the right to life.”
