Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-
“The U.K. and thus the people of Northern Ireland are being strung along by the European Union in the Protocol talks.
“Clearly, the EU has no intention of giving up its ill-gotten sovereignty over Northern Ireland voluntarily. It is interested only in tweaks which retain us annexed into their legal and lawmaking orbit. Even on medicines that is their pre-condition.
“I am more convinced than ever that only a demonstration by Unionist politicians that the Protocol and the current institutions cannot coexist will ever bring the EU to their senses. So long as we meekly implement the Protocol, then it will stay.
“Failing to act and unfulfilled threats has helped it bed in. Stretching so called negotiations into next year just makes things worse.”
