“How far Liz Truss was the author of her own misfortune or the victim of revenge Remainers, is debatable. But one thing is clear, unless and until we are rid of the Union-dismantling Protocol any Prime Minister will lead a Disunited Kingdom because of the EU’s ill-gotten sovereignty over Northern Ireland. Reclaiming full sovereignty over Northern Ireland should be the priority of anyone who styles themselves as Leader of the ‘Conservative & Unionist Party’.
