Statement by TUV party secretary and North Belfast Assembly candidate Ron McDowell:
“Sean Kelly seems intent on retraumatising victims. Having escaped serving his prison sentence due to a perverse political deal Kelly now seems intent on retraumatising victims. What qualifies Kelly to provide tours on the Troubles other than his role in the murder of nine people because they were Protestants?
“For him to be giving tours talking about victims is disgusting. He has inflicted scars on many families in my area which will never heal. The idea that Kelly should have the opportunity to present his perverse version of history to unsuspecting tourists is stomach churning.
“One is tempted to say that if he had any sense of decency or respect for victims Kelly would step back from this role but I already know that such concepts are alien to him and those of his ilk.”
