Statement by TUV North Belfast Assembly candidate John Miller:
“The arrest of Shankill bomber Sean Kelly today in relation to the murder of Conor McKee means that his early release licence should be revoked immediately.
“The Shankill bombing was one of the most horrendous crimes of the Troubles. Its brutality stands out even among the violent actions of that time.
“Kelly should never have seen the outside of a prison again after such a revolting crime but due to the perverse “peace process” he got out after just a few years. Now he has been arrested in relation to a murder.
“Some of those who lost loved ones in the 1993 bombing have been in contact with TUV today asking why this man’s licence has not been revoked and what he would have to do in order for him to loose it. Frankly I cannot think of an answer apart from the usual double standards applied to Republicans for the sake of the political process.
“It is time for the Secretary of State to act and revoke Kelly’s licence NOW.”
