Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:
“It is extraordinary to think that the PSNI would admit that action against two officers for intervening in what they later discovered was an event to mark the anniversary of the Sean Graham bookmakers’ murders during lockdown was necessary because of “all sorts of political leaders up to the deputy First Minister” were demanding action.
“The PSNI seem to believe that process for their own officers can go out the window if that is what is required to keep Sinn Fein happy.
“Coming after the kit glove approach adopted to the Bobby Storey funeral today’s revelations will merely add to the perception that there is indeed a two tier approach to policing in Northern Ireland with the PSNI desire to keep Republicans happy trumping all else.”
