Statement by TUV East Londonderry representative Jordan Armstrong:
“Today’s news that the Union Flag is to fly from government building in Great Britain year round should be extended to Northern Ireland. After all, the Belfast Agreement was sold to us on the basis that our place in the United Kingdom was recognised and respected unless and until such times as the majority of people living here expressed an opinion to the contrary.
“Unionists were repeatedly told that designated days were about keeping us in line with the rest of the UK. We will soon see if they were serious about that argument.
“If the Government wants public displays of “a proud reminder of our history and the ties that bind us” then our flag should be displayed in all parts of the nation.”
