Statement by TUV Alderman Stewart McDonald:
“I greatly welcome news that the Department for Infrastructure is to begin flood alleviation in Ahoghill on Monday. The flooding back in 2008 and again last year caused disruption to the lives of many people and resulted in considerable expense in terms of the damage caused. There should have been action before now to prevent a repeat of what happened but regardless of the speed of the response this action is welcome.
“As a member of Ahoghill Flood Resilience which have been calling for this for some time I am pleased that we are seeing some action.”
