Statement by TUV leader and Euro election candidate Jim Allister:
“In this election voters have a threefold opportunity to make things better. First people can improve their representation in Brussels.
“Secondly, they have an opportunity to pass their verdict on the dismal performance of Stormont where logjam and deadlock is causing it not to deliver for the public.
“Finally, Unionists have the opportunity to be heard on the constant pandering to the IRA and Sinn Fein. The On the Runs scandal exposed the skulduggery at the heart of the “peace process”. Recently we had another revelation – on more than 300 occasions Royal Prerogatives of Mercy were given to terrorists who showed no mercy to their innocent victims.
“Over the years in Northern Ireland Unionists have been left feeling robbed of things which matter to them. We have reached the stage where you can’t even vote a party out of government. You are not even allowed an opposition. The one thing they cannot take away from the Unionist people is their vote. That is the weapon they can use to answer back. So let’s come out on Thursday and vote TUV and make a difference on all these issues.
“Don’t be distracted by the self-serving nonsense about splitting the vote. You cannot split the vote in a PR election provided you use your transfers within the Unionist family and that is what every Unionist should do.”
