“News that a palm print has been matched from the Kingsmills getaway van is welcome, but raises obvious questions requiring clear answers. Why, at least, did the HET investigation not bring this palm print to light, in that all retained forensics were available to HET?
“What does it say about the probity and thoroughness of investigations to date if it takes 40 years for this to emerge? The PSNI need to fully explain the situation. If there had never been this inquest would this secret have remained buried?”
