Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-
“Very happy to promote and encourage the ‘constitutional vandalism’ of the Protocol, which decrees GB a foreign country when it comes to trade with Northern Ireland, Dublin is now alarmed lest any U.K. reclaim of sovereignty thwarts their all-Ireland Protocol project and reverses the ROI advantage flowing from the diversion of trade that the iniquitous Protocol has caused.
“The price of NI being in the EU single market for goods is not only such diversion of trade (to Dublin’s advantage) and direct economic loss to NI, flowing from disruption of trade with GB, but submitting to EU sovereignty and laws. That is why, no unionist can come to terms with the Union-dismantling Protocol.
“It is the Republic of Ireland, not GB, that is a foreign entity and until that reality is restored and accepted by the EU giving up its ill-gotten sovereignty over Northern Ireland, there can be no settlement of the Protocol issues.”
