Innocent Victims of Terrorism Day event online at 11 am

European Innocent Victims of Terrorism Day has been observed every year since the Madrid train bombings in 2004. Jim Allister has hosted an event to mark this important date at Stormont since 2012. This year Covid restrictions mean that an in-person event is not possible. However, this morning at 11 am Mr Allister will broadcast an event to mark the occasion on his Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/jim.allister.1

The event can be watched live and will be available to watch as a recorded video thereafter.

Taking part are Andrea Nelson who lost her parents in the La Mon bombing on 17th February 1978, Edward O’Neill who lost his father in the UVF bombing of Dublin on 17th May 1974 and the widow and daughter of Lance Corporal Jeffery V Young who was murdered in the Hyde Park bombing of 1982, Judith Jenkins-Young and Sarah Jayne Young.

TUV wish to place on record our appreciation to the speakers who through their very personal testimonies will bring home to us something of the impact of terrorism on innocent victims. Thanks are also due to the South East Fermanagh Foundation and Ulster Human Rights Watch for their invaluable assistance in making the event possible.
