Statement by TUV leader Jim Allister:-
“Here we go again! Another round of sticking plaster talks to try and patch together the unworkable and perpetually failing Stormont system.
“The key reality is that Sinn Fein has never been in business to make Northern Ireland work – quite the reverse. Instead of recognising this reality and moving to a coalition of the willing as the only hope for devolution, more weeks are to be wasted on trying to placate Sinn Fein’s wrecking and insatiable demands.
“Only if the system of mandatory coalition is changed is there any hope of durable and workable devolution. More of the same will simply produce more of the same failure and unworkability, such as suits the Sinn Fein agenda to a tee.
“Yet, instead of demanding meaningful change, the DUP and others can’t wait to get back on the hamster wheel.”
