Commenting Mid and East Antrim deputy Mayor Councillor Timothy Gaston said:
“I had a very enjoyable afternoon at Raceview Mill in Broughshane at the launch of the Hedgehog Habitat area along the river walk. It was very fitting to join the Minister for the Environment to officially cut the ribbon with some local children and tour the site.
“It was great to see the very noticeable improvements since my last visit just over a month ago. I am greatly encouraged by the drive and determination of both Roy and Dawn McKeown to put Raceview on the map as a major tourist hotspot.
“Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has huge potential when it comes to tourism and each new addition to Raceview enhances Broughshane village and the area generally.
“This time last year the Raceview Mill site didn’t employ anyone and today it was fantastic to hear that on a daily basis over 50 staff work from the site.”
