Statement by former MP for East Londonderry William Ross:
“I have no hesitation in commending Allister Kyle to the electorate of East Londonderry, an area I had the honour to represent in the House of Commons for 27 years.
“Allister is a young man of ability with a clear understanding of the challenges facing our beloved Province at what is, frankly, a time of crisis. I have no doubt that he will put country before his own interests.
“With Labour set to obtain a big majority it is essential that East Londonderry is represented in the next parliament by someone who fearlessly stands up for the people. With the Union not just under threat but already shredded in terms of that critical pillar Article Six which guarantees freedom of trade within the UK, East Londonderry needs an MP who stands up to Whitehall, not one who receives titles and baubles because they help sell dud deals to the people. Allister is the man for the job and I hearty commend him to the people of our constituency.”
