Statement by TUV leader and European election candidate Jim Allister:-
“Official confirmation that the European elections will go ahead means that in two week’s time the voters of Northern Ireland will have their opportunity to send a very clear message to the government.
“Three years on from the people of the United Kingdom expressing a clear desire to leave the EU we should not have to elect MEPs.
“Voting TUV will send an emphatic message – get on with getting out!
“I will be standing on a clear platform that after years of Brussels intransigence and betrayal of the people by a parliament packed with remainers and a government led by a remainer Prime Minister, the will of the people expressed so clearly in the referendum should be respected.
“TUV really does believe that no deal is better than a bad deal and that the whole of the U.K. should leave NOW on WTO terms.
“People can best express their desire to get on with getting out by voting Allister 1 on Election Day. Thereafter Unionists should transfer to other pro-Brexit and pro-Union candidates thus ensuring that the best team is returned to Brussels – and by voting Allister 1 they will send a message that they want to see all British MEPs out of a job as soon as possible.”
