Commenting on the latest U.K./EU talks, TUV leader Jim Allister said:-
“There is no point in Sefcovic talking grandly about being willing to work “round the clock” to find Protocol solutions when it is clear that he is only interested in “solutions” on the EU’s terms – terms which perpetuate Northern Ireland’s annexation by the EU.
“Unless and until the EU is prepared to give up its ill-gotten sovereignty over Northern Ireland, there can be no acceptable settlement.
“As I have often said, the test of any outcome is simply this: are we still in a foreign single market for goods, subject to a foreign customs code and VAT regime, all implemented by foreign laws and overseen by a foreign court? If so, then nothing of substance would have changed, because it would still be the EU’s writ which would run in Northern Ireland. And that can never be acceptable.”
