Statement by TUV East Londonderry representative and party chairman Jordan Armstrong:
“Anyone who looks at the communique published after today’s meeting of the North South Ministerial Council will be struck by the fact that the business went well beyond issues related to health. At the meeting, appointments were made to the Loughs Agency, InterTradeIreland, the Langauge Body, and Tourism Ireland.
“These appointments are significant as they empower them to operate. So much for refusing to work north/southery as long as the Protocol remains!
“Once again the DUP’s rhetoric in relation to frustrating the NSMC while East/West relations are trashed by the Sea Border has not been matched by actions.
“Such weakness sends entirely the wrong message to Unionism’s opponents at this crucial time”.
