Statement by TUV West Tyrone Westminster candidate Stevan Patterson:
“Today’s announcement of monitoring round money just three days before the general election is a cynical abuse of process in attempt to win over voters.
“Of course money is welcome but the public should remember that this funding comes via Westminster and it is merely Stormont’s job to divide it up. This could have been done long before the election and when it wasn’t should have waited until after Thursday’s poll.
“But I give the electorate more credit. I don’t believe that this will detract from Unionist concern about the Sea Border and feeling of betrayal. In fact, it will remind the public that just days out from the election the DUP continue to refuse to tell us what their position is on the millions of public money earmarked for Casement.”
