Commenting on a Sinn Fein/IRA “night of celebration” for a convicted Colombia Three member TUV North Antrim candidate Councillor Timothy Gaston said:
“This is yet another reminder of the links between Sinn Fein/IRA and terrorism. Monaghan is still a wanted terrorist and there are serious questions about why he is allowed to live openly in the Republic of Ireland while this is the case.
“Of course there will be many innocent victims across Northern Ireland who will recall how the Republic served as a safe haven for IRA terrorists long before now!
“My party will be in contact with the Dublin Government to demand to know why Monaghan hasn’t been extradited.
“But Sinn Fein/IRA and the Republic aren’t the only people with questions to answer. Just a few weeks ago TUV highlighted the fact that the DUP’s Jeffery Donaldson travelled to Cuba with Sinn Fein to meet with FARC representatives – including Timoleon Jimenez, a man wanted by the US State Department for terrorist and drug offences (see here).
“This event is a reminder that, like their fellow terrorists in FARC, Sinn Fein/IRA remain committed to not just justifying terror but openly celebrating it.”
