Ballymoney TUV councillor expresses shock at local road deaths

Statement by Ballymoney TUV Councillor Jonathan McAuley

“I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic road accidents the last couple of days which occurred in Dunloy and Aghadowey.

“My thoughts are with the family of Alan Doherty, who tragically died in the early hours of Wednesday 27th December near his home in Dunloy, and Lydia Ross, also from outside Ballymoney who was only 21 and also was tragically involved in a collision with a blue Peugeot 207 around 10.15pm, last night, Thursday 28th December, on the Curragh Road, Aghadowey.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have any information or dash cam footage from around either area to contact Police on 101.

“I would also appeal to folks to please take extra care on the roads, especially this time of year.”
