Statement by TUV MP Jim Allister:-
“I am delighted to have come seventh of 20 backbench MPs successful in the House of Commons ballot for the right to table a Private Members Bill in this session of Parliament.
“Considering hundreds of MPs entered the ballot, it is a privilege to now have this opportunity.
“I will now consider the focus and content of my proposed Bill, mindful of the primary mandate which elected me to Westminster.
“The timeline is likely to involve presentation of my Bill on 16th October 2024. I will have more to say on this matter as things evolve.
“Having had the honour of steering two PMBs through the Assembly, I now look forward to this bigger challenge.”
