Re Mairia Cahill case
I write to inquire about the status of your investigation into the Mairia Cahill case.
Ms Cahill has been in contact with me to express concerns about the slowness of the investigation. She is keen to see a final report, particularly now as Sir Keir Starmer has completed his inquiries.
The matter is particularly pressing because the lack of a conclusion to the Police Ombudsman investigation is being cited by the Justice Committee as a reason why they may need to delay the start of their own inquiries.
Please provide me with an update on progress in this investigation. I would also be obliged if you could give me some idea of a timeframe for publication. There is now a pressing need to reach finality in this case.
