Allister & Cairns Visit Randalstown Central Primary

On Wednesday morning, TUV Party Leader Jim Allister MLA, along with TUV South Antrim Westminster candidate Richard Cairns, visited Randalstown Central Primary School to see their facilities and hear about the great work being done in their teacher-led reception class.

Commenting Jim Allister said:

“I am greatly impressed by the reception class and the other facilities such as the outside soft play area at Randalstown Central Primary. Many schools would be envious of what they have created and it is clear that Principal Charlwood and the Board of Governors have a clear vision of how they see the future of this school – they have been proactive and sought to maximise the pupil experience which can only bode well for all children.”

TUV South Antrim Westminster candidate Richard Cairns added:

“It was great to see all the children in the reception class having a good time while learning, and it is clear to me that the benefit from being in a teacher led class can only allow them to have an easier move into P1 the following year.

“I have been following closely the developments for this school, and I was disappointed that their plans have been frustrated by the Education Minister John O’Dowd when they requested to upgrade their excellent reception class into a Nursery Unit.”
