Patterson hits out at Republican terror posters in Beragh and Sixmilecross

Statement by TUV West Tyrone Westminster candidate Stevan Patterson:

“It has been reported to me that a number of sinister republican recruiting posters have appeared in Beragh and Sixmilecross. These are deeply concerning, as they mention the threat “to resist in any form they deem necessary”.

“All rightful thinking people will I am sure join with me in condemning these posters as they are clearly designed to intimidate by the underline threat of violence for political gain.

“I call on the relevant authorities to have them removed and those responsible made answerable to the law.

“Such actions, while reprehensible, are hardly surprising given the failure of the lead party in West Tyrone, Sinn Fein, to distance itself from the disgusting remarks of Pat Cullen. When a party refuses to condemn the murder of nurses and other health care professionals one does really have to consider the morality of those who vote for them.

“The minority population of West Tyrone know only too well what Republicans mean when they suggest resistance by “any form they deem necessary”. Graves of innocent Protestants across the constituency bear witness to that. It is up to the local authorities to act on these posters and bring those responsible for erecting them to justice.”
