Statement by Mid Ulster TUV – No Sea Border candidate Glenn Moore:
“Leo Varadkar’s comments in today’s Belfast Telegraph about making an all-Ireland a “political objective and not just an aspiration” of the next Dublin government underscore the fact that for Unionists the restoration of Northern Ireland’s full place within the UK must be the number one objective.
“The division of the United Kingdom by way of the Sea Border is designed to do what the EU has done across Europe – build ever closer union by way of economic links in the knowledge that where economics goes politics will follow.
“Part of the dud Donaldson Deal was the boast that the DUP had ended the idea of the all-Ireland economy. Of course, the promised legislation never followed and in becoming Protocol implementors the Executive which they jointly lead is actively engaged in building the economic conditions for an all-Ireland.
“The upcoming election presents Unionists with the opportunity to call time on this. Every vote cast for a TUV – No Sea Border candidate is one which demands an end to the all-Ireland agenda and a rejection of the dud Donaldson Deal which creates the conditions for it.”
