Statement by TUV Bannside Alderman Stewart McDonald:
“I am disgusted that graffiti has been scrawled on public property in Portglenone.
“Whatever one makes of the situation in the Middle East there is no excuse for people to go out and deface walls in the fashion. Ultimately, the cost of cleaning up this mess has to be borne by the ratepayer with money being diverted from essential services.
“One also has to question what is achieved by the illegal erection of Palestinian flags in the area. Many, myself included, will regard this as less about concern for Gaza and more about Republicans marking territory.”
